Yelp! Star-ry Night 80's Prom at Cambria Suites!

On September 17, 2010 Yelp held their “Star-ry Night 80’s Prom for the Elite Yelpers at Cambria Suites, RDU Airport! Everybody had a great time There was a great DJ, Island Sounds that was spinning 80’s tunes throughout the night, a prom king and queen were crowned, there was spiked punch and hors d’ouerves and everyone that participated was dancing the night away!

For those who are unfamiliar with Yelp, Yelp! is a website that was made to help people broaden their horizons and find new restaurants, hairstylists, hotels and more in their area. People can write reviews, comment on other people’s reviews, save places to visit in the future and so much more! In every area, ours is the Raleigh-Durham Triangle, there is a group of Elite Yelpers. Those are people that are very involved with Yelp, writing reviews, interacting with other reviews, etc. About once a month there is an VIP party for the Elite Yelpers that is at a Restaurant or venue in the Triangle that is involved in Yelp. There is usually a theme, some kind of sponsored drink of the night and fun activities to enjoy.

Our Events theme was the Star-ry Night 80’s Prom and nobody skimped on costumes. Everyone was decked out in their poufy sleeves, powder blue tuxes and corsages. Rain Vodka sponsored the event so there was a delicious “Spiked Punch” available to all of the attendees. Island Sounds dj-ed the event and gave a great variation of the classic 80’s songs we all know and love. There was also a great Photo Booth where you could pose in your 80’s attire and remember the night! Overall, the event went great! Take a look at the reviews and a few pictures from the night!

Annual Appreciation Day at Cambria Suites, Raleigh-Durham Airport

On July 29, 2010 we held an Annual Appreciation Day at our Cambria Suites, RDU/RTP hotel in Morrisville, NC. Since Cambria Suites is only minutes from Research Triangle Park, we had many businesses come and enjoy the evening. With live music and a delicious buffet available it turned out to be a great night!

We also collected food cans to bring to the Food Bank. If you brought food cans to donate then you got 2 drink tickets to put towards Soda, Beer, Wine or a Margarita! This was a Great success! We were able to collect 156 lbs. of Food to donate which equals 131 meals or $558.00 in donations!

Everybody had a great time for the Appreciation Day Event! We had live music while everyone was mingling and the snacks were delicious! Everybody was rushing up to our Full-Service Bar to receive their free drinks and it was a great atmosphere of people having a great time together.

We also auctioned off 3 Complimentary Night’s Stay Packages including a Romantic Getaway Package and a Weekend Retreat Package.

We are already looking forward to our

next Annual Appreciation Day and we hope that you are too!

Cambria Suites Groupon Deal in Raleigh-Durham!

Music4Hope event at Cambria Suites in Raleigh/Durham

We hosted a wonderful event for the Music4Hope Organization last Thursday, June 17th from 5:30-7:30 at Cambria Suites, RDU Airport in Morrisville, NC in the Raleigh/Durham area. Music4Hope is a Non-Profit Organization based in Raleigh, NC that was started last year. Their mission is to bring music into the lives of children and their families experiencing life-threatening diseases. The band Rush Street played throughout the event and they were great! They played an awesome set of jazz music. We had a raffle with chances to win complimentary nights stay's at the hotel.

The event went great! Great music, great food and great company! All for a great cause! We raised a lot of money and we are so glad that there was such a great turnout. Thanks to everyone that came out! Here are some pictures from the event.

Better late than never!
